SONOS PAN

Brand
The goal of this project was to design a product that seamlessly fits within an existing brand’s style and identity, envisioning how it could be introduced into their catalog.

For this concept, I explored toasters and chose to reinterpret the product through the design language of Sonos.
The result is a toaster that embodies the brand’s signature simplicity and elegance, creating a refined everyday object that feels both familiar and innovative.

Ideation
The main idea of this project was to design a toaster inspired by an existing brand.

I chose to create an unconventional concept by inverting the traditional orientation of the slot where the bread is inserted.

3 Level Settings
Ranging from lightly toasted, medium toasted, and dark toasted.
It is adjusted by subtly sliding your finger across the surface.

Cable
Integrated seamlessly into the bottom of the toaster, it remains securely in place without interfering during use.

Crumb tray
The crumb tray is designed to collect falling crumbs, protecting the internal components of the toaster.

Conveyor belt
The conveyor belt gently moves the bread through the heating elements, ensuring an even toasting process.

Heating elements
The heating elements are enclosed in a metal chamber attached to the floor of the conveyor belt.
This design prevents heat from escaping to the sides, keeping the toaster cool while directing the heat upward for efficient toasting.

Ventilation
Openings at the top allow hot air to escape, helping regulate the internal temperature of the toaster.

Optical reflection sensor
An optical reflection sensor detects the presence of the bread, ensuring precise control of the toasting process.

Pressure sensor
A pressure sensor with an integrated LED light provides clear feedback and enhances the user’s interaction with the toaster.

Wiring
All internal wiring is routed outside the metal chamber and securely fixed to the outer walls of the toaster, preventing loose cables and ensuring safe operation.
